Mr. Porter: Pop-Up Shop

A friend of mine came into town this weekend and we decided to check out the Mr. Porter pop-up shop in Meatpacking.  The theme of the shop is titled "Suits and Style" but most of what's available to purchase are accessories, not clothing. Think sunglasses, knitted ties, jewelry and watches - all of which can be paired back with whatever look you choose to sport.

The amount of merchandise available was a little disappointing compared to other pop-up shops I've been to but the selection is well curated and doesn't compete with the business Mr. Porter is actually in - online retail.
There is a spot that you can get your shoes polished, grab a cup of java and even an interactive workstation spot where you can dress someone head to toe in Mr. Porter gear and style it the way you would wear it.  The interactive panels let you pick everything from your skivvies to your belt to your tie - and if you don't like what you pick, it's just a matter of dragging and dropping something else onto the body form.  Here's a quick recap of the outfit my friend ended up styling.
Once you're done with your look, you can email the entire outfit to yourself and if you're a Mr. Porter member, add everything to your wishlist automatically so you don't have to fish around for all the pieces again online.
Overall, while I was a bit sad that there wasn't more merchandise to actually shop from, the interactive panel was definitely interesting in its own right.  The stellar ride outside the pop-up shop didn't hurt either!

The shop is open now through June 17, 2012 at 72 Gansevoort St (b/n Greenwich and Washington St).  12pm-9pm daily.

Mr. Porter: Sale and Pop-Up Shop

Mr. Porter's online sale started earlier this week with lots of merch going for up to 50% off.  Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the site.  Hands down, it's been my fave online retailer ever since launching and blows other online retailers out of the water.  The editorials are amazing, there's tonns of product info including measurements, free shipping/returns and is amazingly curated..

In other Porter news, they are opening up a pop-up shop geared towards suits & style for a week - I can't wait to check it out! The temporary shop opens June 9-17, 2012 at 72 Gansevoort St (b/n Greenwich and Washington St).  12pm-9pm daily.

Mr. Porter Turns 1!

Mr. Porter (Net-a-Porter's male counterpart) just turned one!  It's one of the best online retailers for menswear out there and is great for window shopping, learning about designers and on top of that, it can show you how to pair things together to make a solid outfit.

To celebrate their b-day, Mr. Porter launched 10 exclusive pocket squares with a variety of designers including Alexander Olch, Band of Outsiders, Drake’s, Horiyoshi the Third, Jean Shop, Oliver Spencer, Our Legacy, Richard James, The Elder Statesman and YMC.

My personal faves are Alexander Olch for the plaid, Band of Outsiders for the simplicity and texture of the fabric and Horiyoshi the Third for the amazing print.

A couple of the options are already sold out (Oliver Spencer and Horiyoshi the Third) but are expected to be restocked. Prices range from $60-$100 and are available for purchase online.

Mr. Porter Round 2: Up to 80% off!

Mr. Porter ramped up their sale this morning  - which is now up to 80%! There's a great selection and lots of items which were previously marked as 50% off are now 70%.  I've literally been on the site on and off the whole day and merch is flying off the electronic shelves!  Since Mr. Porter offers FREE shipping and FREE return shipping - this is one of those instances where I'd advise to buy now and think later.

Here's some of what's still available:

Mr. Porter: Up to 70% off!

So one of my favorite online retailers is having a sale with up to 70% off.  Net-a-Porter's male counterpart, Mr. Porter started their sale a few weeks ago but today marked the start of their (up to) 70% off sale.  There's plenty of merch but sizing and availability right now, but don't expect that to last too long.  With free shipping and returns, you've got nothing to lose!  Here's a sample of what's up for grabs:

There's definitely a range in terms of the products and price points and there's literally something available for everyone.  Whether you're in the market for Lanvin, Polo, J. Crew (button up plaid shirts start at just $21!) - Mr. Porter has it all.  Also, if you're looking for last minute gift options - this is definitely a good place to start!
