Sample Sale Report: Beirn

IMAG5374IMAG5375
I stopped by the Beirn Sample Sale in Midtown today since I was in the area to discover a rainbow of watersnake accessories.  At this point in the sale a lot of merchandise has sold out already leaving a smaller selection.  The sale was quiet, well lit with a friendly sales girl helpful to provide any prices that aren't already indicated.

The belts above are about $45 for the tie tassel belts and $60-65 for the wide belts.

There was a small selection of the popular Jenna tote for $150, which usually retails for $450+.  My personal favorite was the olive green colored version.

The Erica tote which is listed at $325 (but is $199 on Amazon) is now just $75.  The fuschia color and striped snake was particularly pretty.  The Ruthie which was $475 (but is marked down to $213 at Bergdorfs) is just $130 at the sample sale.  Clutches are now going for about 1/3 of the original retail price but there are only 3 left.

Important to note some pieces are actual one-off samples and never went into production including the watersnake make-up case with watersnake trim that is being sold at cost ($75).

If you are looking for a large tote in colorful watersnake you can still find some options great prices but note that the sale has already sold a lot of merchandise.

Eleven Objects Fall 2012 Lookbook

Eleven Objects is the creation of Linh Thi Do and Christine Rhee when they simultaneously decided that their wardrobes would be vastly improved by the addition of a new type of accessory.  They gave birth to their line in Fall 2011 with a variety of luxe embellished detachable collars.

Fall 2012 expands upon the aesthetic with the launch of the debut Ready-To-Wear collection. "Inspired by the movie Amadeus and New Order album covers designed by Peter Saville, Fall 2012 is a modern interpretation of baroque luxury."

Metallic brocade, silk organza, patent leather and latex come together to create a multi-dimensional variety of textures.  The color story for the season is for most part subdued in Burnished Gold, Black, Ink, Royal Purple and Emerald.  Hand applied gold foil and pearls help to add light and novelty to the collection.  Peplums, exposed zippers and strong shoulders are hallmarks of this collection.  My personal fave looks are the monochromatic looks 7 & 8 below. If you are a fan of lady-like silhouettes and layering keep your eye on this label.

Website of the Day: Krystalrae

I discovered Krystalrae the other day thanks to my friend Kaity who posted this link on her Facebook. Everyone knows I love prints, so it's probably no surprise that Krystalrae's spring collection caught my eye.

What really stood out to me was this young designer's website.  Her online lookbook is incredible.  I'm totally enamoured with the typography and user experience.  Check it out at krystalrae.com and watch how the clothes change as you scroll down, beautiful and seamless!

I "liked" Krystalrae on Facebook, and look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

Inside: Audrey Grace Pop-Up Boutique

IMAG5224
The Audrey Grace pop-up boutique on the High Line is like a sugary cupcake coming to life - it just might be the girliest shopping experience that I've ever had in the best possible way.  Everything is so irresistibly charming and adorable that you want or need it all.

Audrey Grace is a boutique that is actually located in Jackson Mississippi.  It was started by Jaclyn Bethany who travelled the world to source products for her boutique and culled brands from Australia, Thailand, England, France and from the USA.
IMAG5225IMAG5228IMAG5230IMAG5238IMAG5236
The pop-up has a combination of artwork, photography and both vintage and vintage-look designs that will transport you back in time.  there are 40 custom dresses that were made especially for the shop by designers including Erin Fetherson, Rachel Antonoff, Orla Kiely, Jill Stuart, Manoush, Samantha Pleet, Kelsey Genna, Wayward Daughter, Sretsis, Lucy in Disguise, Wren and many more.  Cat print dresses, tutus, sailor dresses, hearts, bows, sparkle, ruffles, lace and the whimsical all abound.

Also lovely illustrations of women like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Marie Antoinette are posted on every available surface from Artists/Photographers Dan Estabrook, Stacey Mark, Jessie Lily Adams,  Marie Zucker, Gunnar Larson, Jeannine Tann, Caitlin Shearer, Katy Smail, and many more.

I stopped by the launch party on Friday night and The Jane Doze was DJ'd the event as guests enjoyed cake, pastel candies and wine courtesy of Penfolds (Red) as they shopped the night away.

As I entered the boutique I saw models decked out in party dresses posed with the super fun oversized balloons from Geronimo.
Price points varied greatly with an adorable but simple rabbit ring for just $10 to vintage dresses for $45-110 to brand new custom designer merchandise from $100-450.  Prices are clearly marked for most part on neatly written labels.

Although the space is not huge there are racks upon racks of unique merchandise to explore.  I ended up snagging a great condition vintage shirt dress with pleated skirt in Creamsicle Orange for $50.  There is a fairly large sized communal changing area available with a rack and full length mirror to review your finds.

For every girly girl out there, this pop-up is well worth the trek to the West Side.  Bonus since it's literally right beside the 26th Street entrance to the High Line, why not take a scenic stroll afterwards.
